Little Yellow Wagon mobile recycling service

The Yarriambiack Shire is trialling a new mobile recycling service (The Little Yellow Wagon) across a number of smaller communities. In the first instance the service will cover the towns of Beulah, Yaapeet, Patchewollock & Speed. The trailer will be located at the same stop as the Words on Wheels van.
The service aims to provide an easy and convenient way for residents to recycle or safely dispose of household problem wastes including gas bottles, fire extinguishers, paint, batteries, oils, fluoro lights, smoke detectors and electronic waste (E-waste).
To be eligible to participate in this program you must:
- Be a current resident of the Yarriambiack Shire Council
- Ensure only materials listed are presented for collection. No other waste will be collected.
- Items for collection can only be dropped off for he period the trailer is present. Please do not drop off anything at the location earlier or leave it after the trailer has gone.
- Only domestic quantities will be accepted 20Kg or 20L maximum container size
(10 containers per booking).
- Problem waste: Our staff can lift a maximum of 20kg or 20L per item of problem waste. We can collect a maximum of 10 items or 100L collection.
- E-waste: All items must be smaller than 60 inches or 153cm, weighing a maximum of 20kg per item. We can collect a maximum of 5 items or 100kg per booking.
- All items are to be secured, leaking or damaged containers will NOT be collected.

- Laptops
- Gaming consoles
- DVD & VCR players
- Printers
- Stereo systems
- Mobile phones & accessories
- Small electronic goods with a cord including microwaves, toasters, hairdryers etc.
The timetable for the monthly collection is as follows:
1st Friday of the month
Beulah – 9am – 11am Beulah Business Centre, 77 Phillips Street, Beulah 3395
Yaapeet – 12.30pm – 2.30pm Community Club/Centre, 30 Byrne Street, Yaapeet 3424
2nd Friday of the month
Patchewollock 9am – 11am Patchewollock General Store, 58 Federation Street, Patchewollock 3491
Speed – 12.30pm – 2.30pm Post Office & General Store, 20 Chamberlaine Street, Speed 3488
