Global Recycling Day is celebrated annually on March 18 to recognize and promote the importance of recycling in preserving the environment and conserving natural resources. It’s a day to raise awareness about the significance of recycling in reducing waste, saving energy, and combating pollution.

The theme for Global Recycling Day changes each year, with a focus on encouraging individuals, businesses, and governments to take action for a cleaner, more sustainable future. It’s an opportunity to remind everyone of the role recycling plays in achieving a circular economy, where materials are reused and waste is minimised.

From 18 March 2025 the Yarriambiack Shire will be removing the fees associated with e-waste disposal until 30 June 2025.

e-waste (electronic waste) is growing 3 times faster than any other waste stream. With the rapid advancement of technology, people constantly upgrade their devices, leading to a significant increase in discarded electronics.

The Yarriambiack Shire Council collects e-waste and transports it to Horsham where it is processed by Axis Worx through their e-Worx program. Find out more at https://axisworx.com.au/e-worx/
