On Wednesday 6 September Councillors, staff and the Murtoa community welcomed Jacinta Ermacora MP, State Member for Western Victoria to Rabl Park to visit the new pump track and toddler playground.

The Rumble @ Rabl Project was a community identified and driven project which was aimed to provide a modern, safe and accessible active recreation facilities for young people.

The Murtoa College Grade 5/6 Class in conjunction with the Murtoa Progress Association started off the project planning through many hours of class work and discussions on the potential project before writing a petition to Council. The petition outlined the students’ concerns around the current skatepark at Rabl Park and a range of other ideas of elements that could be incorporated to develop a Youth Park & Playspace at Rabl Park, all while requesting Council support for the project.

This project was funded by the State Government's Local Sports Infrastructure Fund - Community Facilities Stream ($88,867) and the Federal Government Local Roads and Infrastructure Fund ($56,501).
