Pre-Prep is coming to Yarriambiack Shire

Yarriambiack Shire is one of Victoria’s first local government areas to transition Four-Year-Old Kinder to Pre-Prep in 2025, and enrolments are now open.

Pre-Prep programs will be available between 16 to 30 hours per week, depending on each kinder service. The extended hours of Pre-Prep will provide children with greater opportunities to socialise, learn through play, and prepare for their formal educational journey.

Free Kinder is available in Pre-Prep programs at both standalone (sessional) and long-day care centres. Families who enrol their children at a long-day care centre will receive a fee offset.

Once Pre-Prep is rolled out across Victoria, children will have access to 1,800 hours of funded kindergarten before starting school, comprising 15 hours per week of Three-Year-Old Kindergarten and 30 hours per week of Pre-Prep.
