Accessible Parking Permits

Victoria's Accessible Parking Permit Scheme is an online system administered by Transport Victoria.  Permits give parking concessions to those with impaired mobility.  There are three types of Accessible Parking Permits available to Victorian residents:

  • An Australian Disability Parking Permit (for individuals),
  • A Victorian Double Time Parking Permit (for individuals),
  • An Australian Disability Parking Permit (for organisations).

Permits are limited to one per eligible person.

The permit must be:

  • Displayed only while the permit owner is using the vehicle (as driver or passenger), and
  • displayed so the permit number, expiry date and QR Code are clearly visible from the exterior of the vehicle.

Parking fees still apply.

Accessible Parking Permits do not authorise the owner to park in restricted locations, such as:

  • "Clearways",
  • "No Stopping" or "No Parking" areas,
  • "Taxi Only" areas,
  • "Bus Zones",
  • Authorised resident areas.

To obtain a disabled parking permit, you must make an application via the Accessible Parking Permits Scheme website - www.accessibleparking.vic.gov.au.

The Accessible Parking Permit Scheme is an online-based and streamlines application process that is jointly between the applicant, their General Practitioner and/or Occupational Therapist, and Transport Victoria.
