Health Businesses
Health businesses (which include hairdressers, beauty rooms and salons, tattooing and piercing, colonic irrigation, and any others involving penetration of the skin) must be registered with Council and comply with the Public Health and Wellbeing Act and Regulations.
Personal Care and body art industries must comply with the Public Health and Wellbeing Regulations 2019. To assist in compliance, health guidelines for personal care and body art industries (see below) have been developed. The Guidelines provide information on cleaning and sanitisation practices required for the personal care industry. These guidelines should be used as a guide to best practice and as a reference tool for people associated with the industry.
Beauty Therapists, Hairdressers, Colonic Irrigation and Body Art establishments within Yarriambiack Shire are all required to be registered with the Council.
Physical therapy establishments are not required to be registered with Council. Radiation equipment (solariums) are required to be registered with Department of Health & Human Services.
