Lake Lascelles

The beautiful Lake Lascelles and  award-winning Mallee Bush Retreat which is an ideal stop for not only the weary traveller but people seeking adventure and excitement.

The Lake Lascelle’s boat ramp is conveniently located at the end of Austin Street with safe parking alongside. Boat fees and regulations are signposted at this location.

Lake Lascelles and the adjacent Willow Lake, are very popular fishing spots with Victorian Fisheries Authority regularily topping the lake up with a variety of fish including Brim, Catfish and Yellow Belly. Bait can be purchased in town, 6 days a week.

Lake Corrong is 11 kms in circumference. It is easily accessed from the Southern end of Lake Lascelles, or from 2 Mile Road on the Henty Highway on the Southern outskirts of Hopetoun.

Walk the circuit, ride many of the rustic trails throughout the unique landscape of this terminal lake.

Enjoy a spell at the Lake Corrong Bird Hide and see some amazing animal and birdlife. Don't forget to visit the artificial pond.

Mallee bird life is abundant all around the lake and can be very rewarding for all year-round bird watching and photography. Willow Lake has many species of Waterfowl and Fairy Wren. Lake Corrong can be very active with Raptors, Honeyeaters, Mallee endemic species or birds migrating to the sanctuary of the surrounds for annual breeding.

The pristine waters of Lake Lascelles allows for an awesome day in the water. The lake has designated swimming areas which are located on the banks of The Mallee Bush Retreat.

The rustic and sturdy theme of corrugated iron, timber and simplistic lines combine and represent the pioneering farm heritage of the area and presents an ideal meeting place on Wergaia Country.

The complex offers a range of unique accommodation options including twin rooms and bunk style rooms all set in an outstanding natural environment. Lake Lascelles also offers powered sites as well as free camping around the lake's water front.
