After Emergency

YOU ARE IN: Home Page > Emergency > After Emergency

When an emergency occurs it will affect different communities and different people in different ways. Council will work with all other organisations to quickly develop an emergency recovery plan. This plan will outline all aspects of community recovery. Key information relating to the recovery effort will be posted on this website.

If you have dealt with a stressful event you might find it helpful to talk it over with a local GP or with a member of the clergy. You might also find it helpful to contact a counselling or personal support service or a telephone help line. The following personal and family counselling hotlines are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week:

Lifeline 131 114
Beyond Blue 1300 224 636
Family Relationship Services 1800 050 321
Kids Helpline 1800 551 800
Mensline 1200 78 99 78
