Yarriambiack Youth Services was established in 1994, providing young people aged 12 to 25 years with access to information and relevant services.
The Yarriambiack Shire Councils' Youth Plan 2014-2018 has provided a strategic direction for the development and coordination of youth services and infrastructure in the Shire for the last four years.
A Community Engagement Officer (Youth), is tasked with ensuring the Youth Plan 2014-2018 is rolled out successfully.
The Community Engagement Officer (Youth) travels throughout the Shire and is responsible for enabling all Shire young people access to Yarriambiack Shire Council Programs.
They have overseen the acquisition of FReeZA funding and subsequent delivery of FReeZA programs through the Shires Ramp It Rage It Stage FReeZA Committee.
They have assisted the development of the Yarriambiack Youth Action Council - providing a voice for youth and opportunities to event manage and develop leadership skills.
They have seen the recent acquisition of the "Engage" funding to run a multi tiered program called "Yarriambiack Thrive not Survive" which will further improve health and wellbeing of young residents by providing youth leadership and personal development opportunities.
